Safety and Effectiveness of Vaccines

There are two sides to every story

With Autism rates, as well as chronic allergies/asthma, rapidly rising in conjunction with the number of recommended childhood vaccines, wouldn’t it be refreshing, a step in the right direction, to have “headline news” giving parents the resources and data they need to answer some of their legitimate questions and concerns about he safety and effectiveness of vaccines.
What Whistleblowers Tell Us About Vaccine Safety and Effectiveness
In 2010, two Merck virologists filed a federal lawsuit under the False Claims Act against their former employer, alleging the vaccine maker lied about the effectiveness of their mumps vaccine (which is part of the trivalent measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccine).
The whistleblowers, Stephen Krahling and Joan Wlochowski, claimed they witnessed “firsthand the improper testing and data falsification in which Merck engaged to artificially inflate the vaccine’s efficacy findings.”
They charged that Merck used improper testing techniques; manipulated testing methodology; abandoned undesirable test results; falsified test data; and failed to adequately investigate and report the diminished efficacy of its mumps vaccine.

Merck Whistleblowers, CDC Whistleblowers–That’s a Lot of Whistling…
In late August, the non-profit National Vaccine Information Center (NVIC) renewed its call for oversight of vaccine safety to be removed from the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), which is responsible for vaccine development, regulation, policymaking, and promotion and also serves as a legal respondent and administrator for the federal Vaccine Injury Compensation Program (VICP).
NVIC’s call came after a senior scientist at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issued a public statement8 admitting he and CDC co-authors of a MMR vaccine safety study9 published in 2004 in Pediatrics “omitted statistically significant information” and that “the final study protocol was not followed.” “I regret that my coauthors and I omitted statistically significant information,” he said in his statement.

Dr. Joseph Mercola Interviews Dr. Lawrence Palevsky About Vaccination and Health
Dr. Palevsky started out in the conventional medical field as an ER physician, then went on to become an ICU doctor, working in neonatal intensive care. As he gained experience, he realized there were “questions that I didn’t have answers for,” which drove his curiosity and pushed him to explore Chinese medicine, Ayurvedic medicine, chiropractic, naturopathy, herbology, and other philosophies and healing modalities to use with his patients.
A major turning point came for him in 1991, when New York state passed a law mandating that every newborn get a hepatitis B vaccine. Dr. Palevsky continued:
“It was the first time that I saw vaccines being used for a disease that really wasn’t present in the newborn or infant population. All the other vaccines that I had learned about came on the heels of a massive wipeout of disease of different populations. The vaccine was developed after the disease had occurred, but this was one of those preemptive strikes.
It made no sense to me that we were vaccinating a population that really had little to no risk of having a disease. I started to wonder what was really going on…”
Several years later, a patient’s mother brought up the fact that there was mercury in vaccines, which he wasn’t aware of. This, too, prompted Dr. Palevsky to wonder what else is in vaccines, and as he started to explore package inserts, the manufacturing process and the adverse effects of vaccines, he realized there was much more information to learn than what he had been taught in medical school (which was that vaccines are safe and effective, end of story).

One question posed by fearful parents that needs to be addressed and clarified is whether or not unvaccinated children are causing the measles outbreak and putting their vaccinated children in harms’ way?
Let’s rewind the tape to 2010 and take a look at the whooping cough outbreak:
In 2010, the largest outbreak of B. pertussis whooping cough in over 50 years occurred in California. Around that same time, a scare campaign was launched in the California by Pharma-funded medical trade associations, state health officials, and national media, targeting people opting out of receiving pertussis vaccine, falsely accusing them of causing the outbreak.
Research published in March 2012 painted a very different picture than the one hyped by public health officials and the media.
In fact, the study showed that 81 percent of 2010 California whooping cough cases in people under the age of 18 occurred in those who were fully up to date on the whooping cough vaccine. Eleven percent had received at least one pertussis containing vaccine, but not the entire recommended series, and only eight percent of those stricken were unvaccinated. According to the authors:
“This first detailed analysis of a recent North American pertussis outbreak found widespread disease among fully vaccinated older children. Starting approximately three years after prior vaccine dose, attack rates markedly increased, suggesting inadequate protection or durability from the a cellular vaccine.” [Emphasis mine]
So, as clearly evidenced in this study, the pertussis vaccine likely provides very little, if any, protection from the disease. In fact, basic science research suggests those who are fully vaccinated can still get infected with pertussis and transmit infection without even showing any symptoms.

With Autism rates spiraling out of control, some parents are wondering if there is a plausibility that vaccines can Autism Spectrum Disorder and/or death.
WASHINGTON – While those opposing mandatory vaccination for measles are widely portrayed as ignorant and even dangerous by some officials, pundits and even news media accounts, Centers for Disease Control records reveal a startling truth – while no one has died of measles in the U.S. in the last 12 years, 108 have died as a result of the adverse effects of the vaccine in that same time period.
The death statistics are recorded by Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System, or VAERS, which captures only a small percentage of the actual number of deaths and other adverse reactions to the vaccine. In addition, 96 of the 108 deaths in that 12-year time period were a result of the MMR vaccine, now the preferred shot for measles immunization.
In addition, CDC statistic show measles deaths were rare in the U.S. before the vaccine became widely used.
Here is what the US HRSA told CBS news reporter Sharyl Attkisson back in 2008 about children compensated for injuries caused by a vaccine – any vaccine – not simply the MMR vaccine:
We have compensated cases in which children exhibited an encephalopathy, or general brain disease. Encephalopathy may be accompanied by a medical progression of an array of symptoms including autistic behavior, autism, or seizures.” Text of May 5th 2008 email from US HRSA to Sharyl Attkisson of CBS News]
So according to the HRSA vaccines cause encephalopathies [general brain injuries] which result in autism and/or seizures in children.
Here is what US CDC Director Julie Gerberding said on national US broadcast TV back in 2008:
Now, we all know that vaccines can occasionally cause fevers in kids. So if a child was immunized, got a fever, had other complications from the vaccines. And if you’re predisposed with the mitochondrial disorder, it can certainly set off some damage. Some of the symptoms can be symptoms that have characteristics of autism.”
NVIC’s co-founders worked with Congress on the National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act of 1986, which acknowledged that vaccine injuries and deaths are real and that the vaccine injured and their families should be financially supported and that vaccine safety protections were needed in the mass vaccination system.
The law preserved the right for vaccine injured persons to bring a lawsuit in the court system if federal compensation is denied or is not sufficient.
By 2010, the U.S. Court of Claims had awarded nearly $2 billion dollars to vaccine victims for their catastrophic vaccine injuries, although two out of three applicants have been denied compensation. We invite you to use the links below to understand the law, injury claims process and more.
In addition to knowing the condition of your child’s gut flora at birth, parents need to be educated on the plausibility of whether or not their child is vulnerable to neurological disorders, such as Autism/ASD, as well as other chronic childhood “dis-eases”?
We the people, parents, parents-to-be, and children dreaming of becoming a parent someday, need to be proactive and educate ourselves on how to protect and build our children’s immunity naturally.
